Jack Byrne and Harvey Gregson have both checked into the Victoria Ground ahead of the new season.

Byrne is a tall, athletic central defender who has progressed through the Coasters` academy system and caught the eye with his consistent performances for the under-18s in 2019/20.

The 19-year-old, who made the switch from Championship neighbours Blackpool at the age of 15, played an integral role in the club’s under-18’s Lancashire County Cup triumph.

Gregson is a player who can comfortably play either midfield or defence.

He signed for AFC Fylde in 2018 as a central midfielder and quickly asserted himself as one of the first names on the team sheet for the under-18s.

He has been described as an aggressive midfielder, who can tackle and head, with lots of attacking quality.

He won the academy player of the year prior to penning his first pro contract in the summer of 2021.

He spent time on loan at Northern Premier League Premier Division side Bamber Bridge and with NPL Division One West outfit Prescot Cables.

Both players are in manager James Rowe’s long-term plans at AFC Fylde.
